2014 Biennial Conference

Overview

Hosted by the Legal Writing Institute in Philadelphia

Conference Overview

We look forward to welcoming you to the 16th Biennial National Conference of the Legal Writing Institute at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown from June 29 through July 2, 2014.

The 2014 Conference takes place 30 years after the first conference organized by the founders of the Legal Writing Institute. Like prior conferences, the 16th Biennial Conference will offer a collegial and collaborative setting for legal writing and academic support professionals to meet, reconnect, and share ideas about pedagogy, scholarship, and professional growth.

As has become typical of LWI biennial conferences, the 2014 Conference will provide something of value for everyone:

  • presentations geared toward both newer teachers and  more “seasoned” veterans;
  • presentations about teaching and learning theory, classroom-tested ideas, research and scholarship, persuasion and advocacy, and personal and career development; and
  • presentations in a variety of formats, including individual and panel presentations, poster presentations, and more informal coffee and Idea Bank sessions.

To encourage collaboration between LWI members and academic support professionals, the 2014 Biennial Conference once again will include presentations that are of particular interest to both groups.
